Taybah Foundation for Development ( TFD ):

Taybah Foundation for Development is a Yemeni development institution working in the areas of health and education. It was established in 1996 under the licence of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 25.  Taybah seeks to provide quality health and education services in partnership and cooperation with all concerned and interested parties in accordance with the development plans of local authorities..

Purpose of the Position:

To monitor and identify suspected cholera cases among travelers at border crossings, manage cases as per national and international protocols, and contribute to preventing the spread of the outbreak.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial health screening for travelers, including assessment of clinical signs relevant to cholera.
  • Use Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) to detect suspected cases.
  • Ability to identify and detect suspected cholera cases promptly and accurately.
  • Fill the document daily and monthly data in official register and reports.
  • Apply necessary isolation or referral procedures as needed.
  • Submit comprehensive daily and monthly reports as well as any updates to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards.
  • Provide travelers with health education on cholera prevention.
  • Carry out any duties assigned by the direct supervisor as part of the job scope.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare delivery, preferably in infectious diseases or outbreak response.
  • Profession practice certificate.
  • Solid understanding of cholera, its symptoms, transmission, and diagnostic methods.
  • Proficient in using RDT kits and preparing health reports.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to work in remote or challenging field environments.
  • Good in English language (written and spoken).
