Job Summary
The Livelihood Project Coordinator will work in direct
support of livelihoods programming under the supervision of the Livelihoods
Program Manager. He/she will be responsible for different aspects of the
project, both in Aden and Mokha, including program design, beneficiary
selection, training coordination, beneficiary mentorship, asset and food
distribution and regular reporting. He/she will also liaise with the relevant
ministry officials (national and local level), clusters, other implementing
partners, and vendors to ensure good coordination and smooth project execution.
He/she will work with the MEAL team to conduct surveys and compile reports to
be submitted on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis to internal
and external stakeholders, including donors and ministry authorities. This position
is based in Aden but will supervise Project Officers and Assistants based in
Aden and Mokha, with travel to project sites in Mokha, Al-waziya, and other
districts.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Design
- Contribute
to project proposal development (logframes, budgets, and indicators)
- Work
with M&E to conduct needs assessments, data collection, and location
prioritization
2. Implementation
- Assist
in beneficiary selection, based on vulnerability.
- Ensure
activities are delivered: on time, within budget, and as per quality
standards.
- Organize
beneficiary trainings, coordinating with involved parties
- Support
the PM in developing a detailed implementation plan (DIP) and
timelines
- Provide
technical oversight to IGAs, livestock, beekeeping programs and ensure
interventions are contextualized.
3. Monitoring and Reporting
- Liaise
with the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, communities,
beneficiaries, clusters, and other implementing partners.
- Track
progress against indicators and targets and work with the M&E team to
update the MWB
- Conduct
regular follow-up visits to project locations in Aden and Mokha
- Contribute
to regular reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Compile
impact stories collected to ensure quality/following ethical storytelling
guidelines
4. Coordination
- Arrange
procurement meetings, including contract criteria, following all
procurement protocols.
- Act as
a focal point for the beneficiary response loop, including complaints.
- Attend
cluster meetings.
- Contribute
to regular reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Compliance and Accountability
- Ensure
adherence to organizational policies.
- Maintain
safety and protection standards
6. Team Management
- Supervise
project officers and assistants and lead day-by-day execution of
livelihood and food distribution activities
- Conduct
performance monitoring and capacity building
- Ensure
staff and volunteers understand technical approaches and organizational
standards.

locations
Education / Experience Needed
- Minimum
3 years working with INGO/NGOs in mid-level (eg project coordinator)
capacity in livelihood program.
- Minimum
5 years’ experience working with livelihood, food security, community
development projects
- BA or
MS.c in Development studies, Economics, Agriculture/Agribusiness, Project
Management, Food Security, Rural Development or relevant fields (MS.c is
preferred
- Specific
knowledge and experience in livelihood programming, such as
Income-generating activities (IGAs, value chain development, food
security, cash program, agriculture, livestock, and fishery
programs)
- Proven
experience in managing field teams and working with vulnerable
communities
LANGUAGE
- Fluency
in written and spoken Arabic and English are required
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety
of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral
diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to stand;
walk and run; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific
