About our Yemen Program

Relief International (RI) has been active in Yemen since 2010 operating in both the internationally recognized government-controlled and Sana’a-based authorities-controlled areas meeting the needs of those in hard-to-reach areas. RI implements an integrated response providing Health and Nutrition; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Livelihoods; and Protection services across 10 governorates in Yemen. RI delivers an integrated response to the humanitarian crisis in the North and South, directly providing lifesaving services to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), returnees, and host communities, targeting particularly at-risk individuals and households.

2.    Job Profile

The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the below
-    Medical warehouse keeping and reporting.
-    Any support needed within SCO Department whenever assign by SCO Manager.
 S/he will maintain the inventory control system and ensure accurate documentation for the receipt and dispatch of all stock. S/he will ensure the security of all program stocks and report all losses immediately. S/He will be responsible for staff supervision and management within the warehouse (warehouse assistant, casual laborers, etc.).

3.    Key responsibilities 

Context background 

  • Ensure adequate security personnel complete timesheets and perform services as required. Report any issues with security guards immediately.
  • Complete Incident Report for any concerning events and notify Office immediately. Document any breakage or theft with photograph support.
  • Ensure fire extinguishers and first aid supplies are in place and kept appropriately stocked.
  • Medical warehouse keeping and reporting.
  • Receiving International medical shipment
  • Deliver shipments to work areas.
  • Controlling and monitoring the buffer stock.
  • Managing the Fleet/drivers.
  • Managing the Fuel consumption 
  • Reporting- Stock Report/Fuel Consumption Report/ Fleer Management Reportings/handling vehicle rental PRs/handling and issuing Fuel needs PRs.
  • Coordinating the program requirement special medical stock received and dispatched from RI warehouse(s) to filed locations.
  • Coordinating the transportations PRs.
  • Coordinating with Custom clearance the receiving of International shipments

Key deliverables  

  • Ensure all medicines are stored as per RI guidelines and WHO Good storage practice GSP.
  •     maintain all medicines safety are monitored and controlled, ensure all documentation are in place.
  • Ensure the temperatures is monitored and controlled within the range, advice on solution to keep cool the warehouse.
  • Review the temperature data logger to ensure medicines dre well maintained.
  • Ensure good distribution practice GDP is followed when dispatching the medicines.
  • Implementing FEFO and FIFO
  • Maintain Stock Cards updated.
  • Maintain Stock report updated.
  • Maintain Temperature Control and Reporting
  • Maintain Shelf Lives of the products and track nearby expiry dates
  • Incharge of Donation and dispatching of the Medical Material to fields
  • Reporting the Program Team/Filed Team about stock status/conditions of the material/packaging 
  • Receiving GIK from Donors and WHO and report them with stock report.
  • Maintain safety stock for fuel as per average consumption.
  • Control Fleet movement as per Weekly/Monthly movement plan.

4.    Person Specification

Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role. 

Essential criteria

  • B.Sc. in pharmaceutics.
  • Two years of experience in medical warehouse management.
  • Previous experience with humanitarian organizations is preferred.
  • General Experience in Logistic

Desirable criteria

  • Good time management 
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good English (speaking and Writing)
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team worker.
