addressing some of the most urgent humanitarian crises, while endeavoring to
find long-term solutions that enhance the welfare of the communities we serve.
Action for Humanity is seeking an experienced and motivated
agricultural consultant to join its team as a trainer. The consultant will work
with the organization's staff and partner organizations to provide training and
technical assistance to smallholder farmers in rural communities.
Summary:
The Agriculture consultant will be responsible for
coordinating and implementing agriculture projects in [insert location]. The
Agricultural consultant will work closely with project partners and
stakeholders to ensure project goals and objectives are met. The consultant will
also be responsible for ensuring the project is implemented in accordance with
the project plan and budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Coordination
- The
Agricultural consultant will be the focal point for the of the agriculture
component in accordance with the project plan and budget.
- Develop
and maintain project work plans and timelines.
- Monitor
project progress and provide regular updates to the project Coordinator.
- identify
project risks and report them to the projects Coordinator who will develop
mitigation strategies as necessary.
- Ensure
project activities are implemented in accordance with the project
guidelines, objectives, polices, SoPs, relevant laws and regulations.
- Coordinate
the implementation of the agriculture activities with the relevant stake
holders and beneficiaries.
2. Partnership Management
- Foster
and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders.
- Work
collaboratively with project stakeholders to ensure project goals and
objectives are met.
- Facilitate
regular meetings with project stakeholders to ensure effective
communication and collaboration.
3. Reporting and Documentation
- Develop
and submit regular project reports to project partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure
project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Ensure
project data is collected and stored in accordance with relevant data
protection laws and regulations.
4. Technical and Training Supervisor
- Conduct
the needed assessments of the targeted areas for the identification of the
specifications of the tractors that will be distributed to the farmers.
- Ensure
that training programs are relevant and effective.
- Evaluate
the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for
improvement.
- Provide
guidance and support to project team members.
- Ensure
compliance with training reporting requirements.
- Prepare
and submit training reports to project, stakeholders, and donor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Rural
Development, or a
- related
- Minimum
of 3–5 years of experience in agricultural projects, preferably with NGOs,
INGOs, or development organizations.
- Strong
background in agricultural practices, mechanization (tractors and
equipment), and rural livelihoods.
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge
of relevant agricultural policies, regulations, and standards.
- Proficiency
in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Fluency
in written and spoken English and local language(s).
- Willingness
to travel to field locations as required.
- Proven
knowledge of agricultural systems, technologies, and value chains.
- Experience
in conducting field assessments and identifying technical specifications
for agricultural equipment.
- Strong
understanding of training design, delivery, and evaluation.
- Good
knowledge of project cycle management, including planning, monitoring, and
reporting.
- Familiarity
with data collection tools and reporting systems.
