Médecins Sans Frontières - France is looking for
Yemeni nationals to recruit for the following position:
WATSAN TECHNICIAN
Location: Saada Governorate_Haydan District
Contract duration: One year.
Contract type: Full time contract
Reporting to: Hospital Logistics Supervisor
Opening Date: 27th July25
Main Purpose
Supporting the Hospital Logistics Supervisor in the
implementation, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting of Water Hygiene
Sanitation activities and infrastructure in the project according to MSF
protocols, standards and procedures in order to improve health and living
conditions of the target population
Accountabilities
- Carrying
out tasks directly related to the Watsan activities such as construction
and maintenance of infrastructures in the project according to MSF
protocols and standards concerning the operation of water supply, waste
management and excreta disposal, hygiene and infection control.
- Ensuring
the cleaning and maintenance of the Watsan structures and when applicable,
of the medical facilities.
- Identifying,
recruiting, training and supervising daily labourers or hygiene agents for
Watsan activities
- Informing
the Hospital Logistics Supervisor of any difficulties, anomalies and
problems that may affect the normal functioning of activities and tasks in
his/her area of responsibility.
- Assisting
the Hospital Logistics Supervisor in Watsan data collection and reporting,
as well as maintaining updated files and records of assigned project
activities
- Being
responsible for equipment, tools, and consumables, verifying that they are
safely used and maintained. Reporting to the supervisor any need of
renewal and the weekly/monthly consumption
- Working
closely with the Base Logistics Supervisor to ensure all MSF premises
adhere to Watsan safety standards.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
WASTE MANAGEMENT
- Follow-up
and Monitor the Watsan day-to-day activities such as collecting and
sorting wastes before disposal, keeping the incinerator in good working
order,
- Ensuring
adherence to safety standard in the use of PPE for the hygiene and waste
management team.
- In
collaboration with the IPC team train the medical & Non-medical staff
on Waste segregation.
- Ensuring
the availability and correct usage of all material and equipment.
HYGIENE, SANITATION & VECTOR CONTROL
- Ensuring
the general cleaning and correct hygiene status of the latrines, shower
and surrounding of the hospital premises.
- Ensuring
routine Vector control of the hospital premises, Annual IRS Spraying
according to MSF Protocol.
- Ensuring
a high standard of hygiene and cleaning practices are done to all MSF
premises.
WATER SUPPLY
- Ensuring
the distribution of the materials and tools used in water treatment, (e.g.
physical organization and inventory of stocks etc.)
- Responsible
for the day-to-day management / Operation of the water station.
- Treatment
and refilling of drinking water for the Hospital, Guest houses and
office.
- Carryout
Preventives maintenance for the Dosatron, water dispensers in the hospital
premises & accommodations.
- Follow-up
the water trucking supply & consumption of the hospital including
routine water testing of each batch of water supplied and quarterly
laboratory analysis of the water.
- Ensuring
the water supply for other MSF premises (office and guest house) are also
safe and to a high standard.
HUMAN RESOURCE
- Supporting
the Hospital Logistics Supervisor in the team planning (e.g.staff rosters
and admin, HR processes, etc.) and informing and involving the Country
Watsan Specialist in case of any major technical issue and providing all
required reporting.
Requirements

Education: Technical certification or proven
background, desirable specialization in water and sanitation

Experience: Previous experience in technical works,
experience in WASH from other INGOs.
- Languages: Arabic
language essential, English is desirable
