NPA is seeking a Finance Officer for the office in Aden,
Yemen
The position is based in South/Aden, Yemen with travel to
other areas of operation as required.
Responsibilities.
General Description:
To assist the finance manager in the following activities;
- Ensure
an effective audit trail is in place, and all supporting documents are
availed before posting any transaction; report any possible fraud or theft
immediately
- Maintains,
and coordinates the implementation of accounting and control procedures.
- 2nd
review logistics procurement documents and ensure all relevant supporting
documentation is attached before they are posted and processed for
payments, report any possible fraud or theft immediately
- Responsible
for payroll 1st review and payment preparation and ensure outstanding
advances are deducted as per the policy
- Review
all relevant supporting documentation for all staff costs e.g. travel
claims, impress claims etc. report any possible fraud or theft immediately
- Manage
the accounts payable records
- Coding
procurement requests
- Timely
posting of all transactions in Unit 4
- Prepare
all vouchers posted and ensure supporting documents are ticked on the
voucher form before handing them to the staff responsible for scanning
- Perform
monthly bank and cash reconciliation
- Preparing
the Cashflow statement bimonthly
- Monitor
Vehicle and generator fuel records and maintenance costs
- Act as
FM while she is on leave
- Any
other task as assigned by the line manager

transactions in Unit 4
- Reconciling
the TBR
- Monthly
cash flow statements
Required qualification
Must have:
- Academic
degree in accounting
- Good
command of English and Arabic - both speaking and writing;
- Good
computer skills
Desirable:
- Three
years or more experience in financial accounting;
- Two
years or more experience within the humanitarian sector;
- Experience
in capacity development and training;
- Experience
in any accounting software is an asset;
- Previous
work experience with donors’ reporting is preferred.
