PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an
international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been
providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural
disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter.
Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the
first cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the
field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also
in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around
twenty countries, SI's teams - 2000 people in total made up of expatriates,
national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers - work
with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
Solidarités International (SI) is determined to prevent and
fight all type of abuse – all act of exploitation, abuse and/or sexual
harassment (SEAH) against members of beneficiary communities or collaborators,
fraud, corruption, violation of persons and/or property, funding of activities
harmful to human rights – that could be perpetrated in the frame of its

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
Goal/Purpose of the Position:
The FSL Climate Smart Agriculture Officer carries out the
tasks relating to Climate smart agriculture activities under his/her
responsibility – with the assistance of his/her team where applicable. In this
capacity, he/she ensures a significant presence in the field.
The FSL Climate Smart Agriculture Officer is responsible for ensuring that the
activities under his/her responsibility are carried out on time, to a high
standard and in compliance with national, international, SI and donor standards
and requirements.
List of Main Responsibilities:
- Participates
in the preparation, implementation and drafting of needs assessments and
any technical studies specific to the activities under their
responsibility.
- Ensures
that all information is reported in the context of potential internal
and/or external referrals identified within the communities.
- Communicates
to their manager any proposals for adjustments to the activities under
their responsibility (methods, approaches, etc.).
OPERATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING
- Prepares
and carries out the tasks under their responsibility in accordance with
SI’s strategy and programme, SI’s technical requirements and those of the
country of intervention, SI’s procedures and donor criteria.
- Prepares
and carries out the tasks under their responsibility in accordance with
the guidelines provided by their manager (adherence to the activity
schedule, follow-up on recommendations, application of targeting criteria,
etc.).
- Uses
SI management and monitoring tools, and actively proposes adjustments and
new initiatives, with the aim of ensuring agile implementation and
adequate monitoring, in close collaboration with their manager and the
MEAL team (conducting surveys, databases, registering and verifying
beneficiaries, etc.).
- Listens
to the local population and authorities to gather information on needs,
grievances, major events that may affect activities, and perceptions of
the actions undertaken.
- Proactively
suggests adjustments and developments necessary to maintain the relevance
and quality of the tasks under their responsibility.
- Anticipates
and communicates regarding difficulties related to implementation and
facilitates the resolution of difficulties related to the tasks under
their responsibility.
- Implements
and ensures compliance with safety regulations on construction sites.
Under the supervision of their manager and in close
collaboration with the relevant departments:
- Implements
the systematic integration of cross-cutting themes (environment and
climate, cross-cutting protection, public health and market-based
approaches); and, where relevant, multi-sectoral integration (internal
and/or external).
- Participates
in the learning cycle for the tasks under their responsibility.
- Contributes
to the assessment of the relevance of the activities carried out, the effectiveness
of interventions and their suitability in light of changes in the context
and the needs of the population, in close collaboration with their
manager.
REPORTING, COMMUNICATION AND REPRESENTATION:
- Contributes
to and submits internal reports on time, in accordance with SI’s formats
and requirements.
- Helps
to identify and maintain a local operational communication network with
key stakeholders (communities, civil society organizations, etc.), in
close collaboration with their line manager.
- Reports,
in accordance with established procedures, any information regarding the
security situation or any event that may have an impact on the safety of
teams and SI’s activities.
- Acts
as one of SI’s representatives at the forefront of community engagement
and interactions with communities, as well as with any other key
stakeholders in their areas of operation.
DOCUMENTATION AND CLOSURE
- Contributes
to the archiving of key programme documents relating to the tasks under
their responsibility.
- Participates
in the closure of activities under their responsibility with the
involvement of all stakeholders (support departments, partners, target
communities, local authorities, etc.).
INTERNAL CONTROL
- Is
responsible for the compliance of the documents they produce
FILING AND ARCHIVING
- Is
responsible for the filing and archiving of the documents they produce in
accordance with internal procedures
FIGHT AGAINST ABUSE
- Creates
and actively contributes to the establishment of a working environment
that prevents any inappropriate behavior.
- Helps
to raise awareness of SI’s ethical framework
- At
all times, respects the confidentiality of information exchanged in the
context of a report and its handling.
- Implement
measures to mitigate the risk of abuse
PARTNERSHIPS
- May
contribute, in line with their role and responsibilities, to the audit of
SI implementation partners
- May
contribute to the implementation of a plan to support and strengthen SI
partners
- May
participate in monitoring the activities of partners in line with their
role and responsibilities
- This

Profile required
- Bachelor’s
degree in Agronomy, livestock production, Food Processing/Food Technology,
or a related field
- Minimum
3 years of experience in FSL and Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA)
- Strong
knowledge of climate-smart agriculture, agroecology, Farmer Field School
(FFS), sustainable land management, irrigation, food processing, and crop
and livestock production.
- Experience
working with farmers, cooperatives, extension services, and government
stakeholders.
- Experience
in delivering training, developing technical materials, and strengthening
institutional capacities.
- Strong
communication, coordination, analytical, and stakeholder engagement
skills.
- Proficient
in Microsoft Office and digital data collection tools (e.g.,
KoboToolbox/ODK).
- Good
command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
