JOB TITLE: Logistics Assistant

LOCATION: Mokha

REPORTING TO: Administrative Officer - Mokha

MAIN DESCRIPTION

The Logistics Assistant is in charge of managing and maintaining logistics stores in a tidy, correct, and efficient manner, and give the support to the logistics needs of HALO's Mokha office, ensuring that it is fully equipped and that activities run smoothly and efficiently.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Manage HALO Mokha’s Capital and non-capital stores, including demining, consumables, uniforms and stationary 
  • Assist the Logistics Officer in managing capital stores, including detectors and PPE. 
  • Assist the Medical Officer in the management of the medical stores. 
  • Respond promptly to reasonable staff needs to the supplies they require. 
  • Support the Logistics Officer in maintaining a digital record of Al Mokha stores and transactions via the online database Tracmor. 
  • Maintain stock cards for all non-capital equipment in the stores, recording the physical presence of items by their quantity and location. 
  • Complete ‘Supply In’ forms accurately and on time when purchased goods are received and brought into stores, and ‘Supply Out’ forms when supplies are distributed to operations and support staff. 
  • Verifying purchasing needs on Purchase Request Forms by checking stock levels. 
  • Ensure that all stores are kept in a tidy and organised manner. 
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained, and remove items for repair or write-off as required. 
  • Arrange for and track regular maintenance of equipment and premises. 
  • Support the compliance of logistics task with HALO policies and procedures. 
  • Perform related work as required.  
  • Coordinate timely procurement of fuel for all location vehicles and mechanical assets and maintain up-to-date fuel consumption records and logs. 
  • Coordinate service schedule with Fleet Assistant for all location vehicle and mechanical assets, and oversee routine and emergency maintenance of vehicles. 
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL

  • Diploma or related qualification in supply chain, warehouse management and inventory.
  • At least one-year professional experience in an international NGO 
  • Good spoken and written English Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail 
  • Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and preferably an accounting system like NetSuite 
  • Ability to work effectively with a team in a culturally diverse environment
